Izabela Zalewski

Izabela Zalewski, age 57, of Griffith, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2016. She is survived by her son Adam (Elena) Zalewski; daughter Ewa Zalewski; siblings: Waldemara (Bertha) Gorecki, Jolanta (Leszek) Zychska, Beata (Keith) Quanstrom, and Hubert Gorecki; step mother Alicja Gorecki; God children Dorota Zychska and Brandon Quanstrom; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, husband and niece. As per her wishes Ms. Zalewski will be cremated. A memorial mass will be held at Our Lady of Grace Church 3025 Highway Ave, Highland on Saturday September 24, 2016 at 10:30 am with Rev. Edward Moszur officiating. Visitation with the family 10:00 a.m. at the church. Iza emigrated from Poland in 1981, and she enjoyed traveling, cooking, crocheting, gardening, and spending time with her family. She worked at several places and excelled at each one, but her greatest achievement was her children who were her blessing and whole life. She always had a smile for everyone and was loved by many for her warmth and generous spirit. When her life on Earth was over…she continued to give and put a smile on someone's face…through her eyes someone will see the world as her final goodbye was an organ donation.
