Halil Can, age 72, of Schererville, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2016. He is survived by his wife Aysel Can; son Ilker (Amy Zajac) Can; daughter Derya (Eric) O'Keefe; grandchildren Sean, Sophie, Kamile, and Kayra and many family members in Turkey. He was preceded in death by his parents Yunus and Fatma Can. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the Fagen-Miller Funeral Home 8580 Wicker Ave, St John, at 10:00 a.m. Burial Chapel Lawn Cemetery in Schererville. Friends may meet with the family on Friday at the funeral home from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. Halil was an avid gardener but his true passion was his grandchildren
